Photography found me when I was just four years old. When I picked up my birth father’s camera to see what it was and looked through the lens, I remember thinking the world had been transformed into something more beautiful. I became obsessed with how the simple act of snapping a photo could capture and preserve beauty--sunsets, families, the fond expressions of friends laughing together, the joy of celebrations, the romance of weddings, the pageantry of holidays. Every photo tells a story, freezes a moment in time that will never be repeated, documents our existence. Photography is a way to say, “We were here, and just look what we did, and how happy we were, and how lovely it all was, remember?” We choose what we want to recall about our lives through photography, and with a well preserved photo, we can continue to experience those precious moments for years to come.

I have been in the photo industry for over fifteen years and have purposefully sought out every role, in order to learn. I’ve been not just a photographer but a production assistant, photo editor, producer, stylist, casting director, video editor, and event director because I believe that to truly understand your art, you must appreciate all of the elements that go into making it. For photography, that means understanding and successfully producing the right lighting, capturing the timing, choosing the right location, finding the perfect angles, and putting the subjects at ease so they can be as comfortable and natural as possible. After earning two degrees and working many jobs and countless shoots, I know this is my purpose, and my gift.
